Privacy Policy
Last updated on October 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Ediode Electronics Private Limited ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use:
- the EDIO website at edio.in, including browsing, accounts, orders for books and other products, and related website services; and
- the EDIO mobile app, a TV repair training and learning platform for technicians.
We handle personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable rules. This policy is written in plain language. It does not limit any rights you have under Indian law.
Please also read our Terms and Conditions.
Who is responsible for your data?
Ediode Electronics Private Limited is responsible for the personal data described in this policy.
For privacy questions, data requests, or account deletion requests, email internals.edio@gmail.com.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the website and the EDIO mobile app. What we collect depends on how you use our services.
EDIO website and e-commerce
When you browse, create a website account, place an order, or contact us, we may collect:
- Account information: name, email address, and password when you sign up on the website.
- Order and contact details: name, email address, phone number, and shipping/delivery address when you buy books or other products.
- Order information: products ordered, quantities, prices, order number, and purchase history needed to process, fulfil, and support your order.
- Payment-related information: payments on the website are processed by Zoho Payments. We do not store your full card or UPI credentials. Zoho may process payment details as needed to complete the transaction.
- Customer support information: details you send us about an order, delivery, return, or other enquiry.
- Website event registration: if you register for a website event or workshop, we may collect the details you submit for that registration.
- Cart and sign-in storage: we store information on your device (for example in local storage) so we can remember your cart and keep you signed in.
EDIO mobile app
The EDIO mobile app is a TV repair training and learning platform for technicians. It provides video courses organised by TV brand and part/component, repair guides and educational content, forum groups where technicians can post messages and photos, live event/workshop registration, and course progress tracking.
For the app, we may collect:
- Name — to identify your account, personalise your experience, and identify you for events or workshops.
- Age — to confirm you meet the minimum age requirement. The EDIO mobile app is intended for users aged 18 and above and is designed for working technicians and professional learners.
- Mobile phone number — to create and identify your account, send a one-time password (OTP) for login and verification, and help protect your account. Your mobile number is not used for marketing and is not sold to third parties.
- Event registration details — which event you registered for and related registration information, so we can process the registration, keep records, and contact you about the event when needed. Edio admins may see your name, phone number, and registration time to run and manage events.
- Push notification token — we may collect an Expo push token and device platform (Android/iOS) so we can send alerts for new forum messages and group announcements. You can turn forum notifications off in Settings. Tokens are removed when the account is deleted or the device is unregistered.
- Forum messages and photos — the app has forum groups that work like a group chat: a general forum open to all app users, and premium groups for customers who have bought an EDIO product. You can post text messages and photos from your gallery or camera. What you post is stored and can be seen by the other members of that group and by the Edio team. You can delete your own messages at any time. Forum content is used only to run the forum and provide support, not for advertising.
- Premium access status — Premium access, which gives entry to the premium forum groups, may be recorded on your account when granted by Edio to customers who have bought an EDIO product. The current app does not take in-app payments or serial keys for Premium. Contact support if you need Premium.
- Basic lesson and video usage data — so we can track course progress, remember where you left off, and operate the learning experience.
The EDIO mobile app currently does not collect:
- Precise location
- Payment information (no in-app payments in the current app)
Some features, including offline downloads and camera search, are marked "Coming soon" and are not available yet. We do not collect data for those features until they ship.
The EDIO mobile app does not currently use separate analytics or crash-reporting services to collect personal information or app usage information. If that changes, we will update this policy. (Analytics used on the website are described under "Cookies and similar storage".)

- Verify app users through OTP
- Provide access to courses and videos

We do not use your personal information for unrelated purposes without an appropriate legal basis, or consent where required. Phone numbers collected for the EDIO mobile app are not used for marketing.
Information sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share information with service providers only when reasonably necessary to provide the service, or when required by law.
Depending on how you use EDIO, this may include:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and application infrastructure for the website and the EDIO mobile app.
- Zoho Payments — payment processing for website orders and paid website event registrations. This does not apply to the EDIO mobile app, which does not currently collect payment information.
- MSG91 — OTP/SMS verification for the EDIO mobile app. Your mobile number may be shared with MSG91 as needed to send the OTP.
- Courier / postal services — shipping and delivery of website orders to the address you provide. We do not name a specific courier here because that may vary by order.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — website usage analytics, as described under "Cookies and similar storage" below. These apply to the website only, not to the EDIO mobile app.
- Other forum members — messages and photos you post in a forum group can be seen by the other members of that group. Please do not post personal information you do not want other members to see.
- Legal authorities when required by law.
Third-party providers process information only as needed to provide their service. Their own terms and privacy policies may also apply to their systems.
Cookies and similar storage
The website uses essential storage on your device so the site can function — for example, keeping you signed in and remembering items in your cart.
If you agree through the cookie banner, the website also uses analytics cookies from two services to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. These services do not run unless you select "Accept":
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — measures visits and traffic, such as which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive at the site, and the type of device and browser used. Location is estimated from your IP address.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — captures how you use and interact with the website through usage metrics, heatmaps, and session replay, including clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement.
This information is used to understand how the website performs, to find and fix problems, and to improve its content and design. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it. Google and Microsoft process this data under their own privacy statements: Google Privacy Policy and Microsoft Privacy Statement.
You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the website footer; if you withdraw consent, analytics stop and the analytics cookies we can remove are deleted. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Clearing stored data may sign you out or empty a guest cart.
Data security
We use reasonable security measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Account and application data are hosted using services including Supabase. The EDIO mobile app also uses OTP-based authentication through MSG91.
No internet service is completely secure. Please protect your devices, passwords, and OTP codes, and never share an OTP with anyone.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes it was collected, or where retention is required or permitted by law.
For the EDIO mobile app, if you stop using the app, we generally intend to retain your account information for up to 24 months after your last meaningful activity, unless you request deletion earlier, we need the information for a legal obligation, a dispute or security issue, or a longer period is required or permitted by law.
Messages and photos you have posted in forum groups remain in those groups, as part of the group conversation, even after you stop using the app or delete your account. You can delete your own messages at any time, including before you delete your account.
Website order records may be kept for as long as needed to fulfil orders, handle returns or support, and meet accounting or legal requirements. When information is no longer required, we delete it or take reasonable steps to make it no longer identifiable, subject to applicable law.
Your rights
Subject to applicable Indian law, you may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information
- Request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to applicable requirements
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Request a copy or export of personal information we hold about you, subject to identity verification
- Raise a grievance about how your personal data is handled
Website users may also opt out of marketing emails if we ever send them with consent. The EDIO mobile app does not use your phone number for marketing.
How to request access, correction, export, or deletion
In the EDIO mobile app, you can delete your account from within the app using Delete Account.
You can also request deletion of your EDIO account and associated personal data by contacting internals.edio@gmail.com. Use the same email to request access, correction, export, or withdrawal of consent, and for website accounts.
Please include:
- Your name
- The mobile number and/or email associated with your account
- The request you are making
We may need to verify that an email request is from the account holder. We will process valid requests within the time required under applicable law.
More detail is on our Account Deletion page.
Age
The EDIO mobile app is intended for users aged 18 and above and is designed for working technicians and professional learners. It is not directed or marketed towards children.
The website is intended for adults making purchases and using our services. If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a person below the applicable minimum age without the required consent or legal basis, we will take appropriate steps under applicable law.
Third-party links
Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, data practices, technology, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy on this page. If we make a significant change, we may also notify users through the website, the app, or another reasonable method.
